Homey, warm-hearted and hospital, the Senegal is a crossroad of ethnic groups and traditions, contributing all in the cultural wealth of the country.
Population :about 11 million senegalese people, there among whom 55 % have less than 20 years. The population is composed of different ethnic groups: :
- Wolofs et Lébous : 40%
- Sérères : 18%
- Peuls : 15%
- Toucouleurs : 10%
- Diolas, Balantes, Bassaris, Sarakholés et Mandingues : 13%
Languages : French (official language) and wolof for most the population. But also the diola, the poulaar, the malinké and the mandingue
Religions :85 % are Muslim. Traditional religions regroup 6 % of the population. The Christians are 2 %.

Géography : The Senegal has an important maritime facade on the West with the Atlantic ocean. The river Senegal constitutes a border in the north with Mauritania and in the East with Mali. In the southeast, border with Guinea in a bomb the foothills of the mountain of Fouta-Djalon and in the southwest with Guinea-Bissau by a rain forest. Gambia forms an enclave and separates the region of Casamance with the rest of the country.
